What’s Hiding In Your Closet? You?

What’s hiding in your closet? Most of us stand in front of our unorganized, overstuffed closet daily, asking ourselves the same questions: “What am I going to wear? Where did that shoe go? How old is that shirt? Will that ever come back into fashion?” and we tell ourselves, “One day, I need to organize this place and make my life easier.”

Daily, we spend money on lots of things that make us happy, but there are areas of our home that we rarely pay attention to and spend money on and they are: our garages, our closets, mudrooms, play rooms, and our laundry rooms. If those spaces were efficiently planned and organized it would make our lives easier and ultimately, a bit happier.

Storage solutions in spaces can take many forms. We’ve recently installed a Closet System in our studio that covers an area 110” wide (that’s about 9 feet for most of us), and contains the ultimate storage plan: places for sweaters and linens, hanging items, jewelry storage, an ironing board, hamper, a charging station, retractable mirror, scarf, tie and belt rack, shoe “fences” AND great lighting!

By bringing order to your closet you can expand the wearable wardrobe you already own. It’s easier once you can see and find what you already have. The new trend is called “shop your closet”. If you’ve never heard of it, it suggests that you wear what you already have in new and different ways. Now that seems logical and reasonable but most of us can’t find things in our closet, have no idea what’s actually there, or how long it’s been there. So you can’t shop your closet, if you can’t see the merchandise!

Alternatively, you can continue to do the same thing that you’ve always done. Tell yourself, “I have nothing to wear!” Then do what most of us do, wear the same few outfits over and over again. Once we can’t take it anymore, we breakdown and buy a few more outfits or accessories and cram them into the already full closet.

No matter what size your space is, no matter what your budget, a Storage System can add value to your home, time saving to your routine, money to your clothing budget, and ultimately bring you happiness. Let us help you identify those spaces that cause you stress and let us design something that fits your lifestyle and budget.
